Short description

Plastic-to-oil conversion machine.

Description

Designed by Blest, the machine uses an electric heater to melt the plastic, the evaporated gases emitted are cooled by a tank of water back into oil. Polyethylene, polystyrene and polypropylene are suitable, and any gases released are filtered into water and carbon.

Qualitative Analysis

Description of the Process

1kg of plastic = 1 litre of oil at 1kWh. The unit cost isĀ around US$12,700. Landfill and ocean dumped waste is reduced. CO2 is reduced from the otherwise burning of plastic. Reduction in distances to transport oil.
